Memorial Day

“The true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him.”
― G.K. Chesterton

We remember all the soldiers and civilians who have lost their lives while defending America. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of those who have served to protect our freedom.

San Juan Capistrano

California’s San Juan Capistrano is a vibrant city with a fascinating history. The mission system fused Spanish and Native American ideology and cultural practices. The present day city reflects relics of the past with the Great Stone Church, which partially collapsed in the 1812 earthquake.

The gardens have an array of color. Water lilies rest in fountains that contain large Koi fish. The regional landscape vibrates with natural splendor.

The Los Rios Historic District has many wonderful gift shops and restaurants. It’s an inviting atmosphere, as you can see in this hand-painted sign that reads, “Come in, stay awhile.”

If you’re looking for a unique java experience, we’d recommend trying Hidden House Coffee. We routinely purchase their lattes that have the perfect ratio of espresso and steamed milk. For an excellent breakfast, you should consider  Hummingbird House Cafe for their omelet and french toast. They have charming outside seating. We hope you have a chance to visit this beautiful city that has an active train station at the heart of the historic community.

Seaside Necklaces

20150430_164505-1

“The sea is everything. It covers seven tenths of the terrestrial globe. Its breath is pure and healthy. It is an immense desert, where man is never lonely, for he feels life stirring on all sides. The sea is only the embodiment of a supernatural and wonderful existence. It is nothing but love and emotion; it is the Living Infinite.”
-Jules Verne, Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea

As California based artisans, these seaside necklaces with dainty charms capture SoCal beauty. The small glass bottles can store sand from your favorite beach. We recommend adding small seashells as well. The necklace chains are silver and gold plated. They range from 18″-26″. It is part of our Things We Love Collection.
