Fall at Tanaka Farms

Happy Fall, OC!? Don’t forget to take time to gather together and celebrate the harvest. One of our favorite places to go is Tanaka Farms where they have a year long Market Stand with fresh produce. ???They offer wagon tours and other educational programs. @tanakafarms sure has plenty of pumpkins to carve, so stop by soon! ?

National Poetry Day

We love reading poetry. There’s something magical when you carry a book and take it into nature and read. We’ve also been listening to poetry on vinyl. You can hear the rhythm of the words, notice the silent pauses, while the crackle from the record echoes in the space. This Emily Dickinson poem is one of our favorites and we want to share it with you on National Poetry Day. As you read the poem aloud, it’s as if you can feel the motion of the ocean waves.

Part Four: Time and Eternity

On this wondrous sea,
Sailing silently,
Knowest thou the shore
Ho! pilot, ho!
Where no breakers roar,
Where the storm is o’er?

In the silent west
Many sails at rest,
Their anchors fast;
Thither I pilot thee,—
Land, ho! Eternity!
Ashore at last!

Emily Dickinson
