The next Southwest Oral History Association 2018 conference will be in SoCal. We are helping the conference committee prepare for this regional gathering of veteran and new practitioners of the field. Join us by submitting your poster proposal and attended the event April 27-29, 2018.
The Keils provided a mini-workshop for the Laguna Woods Video Club titled, “Digital Oral History Methodology” in May 2017. Here is the article from Videogram, their e-newsletter from the June 2017 edition.
Cindy & Jennifer presented “Digital Oral History Methodology” at the 2017 Southwest Oral History Association Conference in Tempe, AZ in April. This panel explained how the pre-interview and post-production stages are integral parts of the project. Technology can be enhanced to make the interviews better and adapted for the online viewer. Collection management skills can be used with any project and can aid anyone interested in digitizing their project. This presentation explained mainstream and project specific tools used throughout projects.
Jennifer created the poster session for the Southwest Oral History Association at the Center for Public and Oral History at CSU, Fullerton on April 30th, 2016. We shared our “Over the Bridge” Oral History project.
Jennifer presented Capturing our Community’s Voice with Multidisciplinary Approaches with Kevin Cabrera and Tram Le at the 50th Oral History Association Conference in Long Beach, CA in October 2016. This roundtable was chaired by Dr. Tram Le from University of California, Irvine. We discussed how to use community events to start and maintain oral history projects.

We exhibited at the 2015 Newport Beach Book Fair on Sunday, October 4th at The Newport Beach Tennis Club at 2601 East Bluff Dr. Newport Beach, CA 92660.
Chisme Chick participated at the 2015 Green Festival VIP Party in Santa Monica, CA. Cindy wore an artisan headpiece and demoed crocheted beanies at our booth. Jennifer showcased the handcrafted jewelry and sold various handcrafted goods. Ryan modeled our crocheted bow tie.
Chisme Chick showcased their products at the 2015 Green Festival at the LA Convention Center on Friday, September 25th from 12-6pm.
Our company was a sponsor for the 2015 UCI Fashion Show. Part of the proceeds went to support Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Chisme Chick was a featured company at the inaugural Eureka FEST 2015. We presented our industry background to more than 500+ attendees and shared our latest collections at the demonstration tables.
Chisme Chick competed at the Shark Tank competition hosted by the Harvard Business School Association of O.C. and UCI Blackstone LaunchPad on January 19, 2015. We pitched our company’s vision to industry leaders and community attendees.
