California’s San Juan Capistrano is a vibrant city with a fascinating history. The mission system fused Spanish and Native American ideology and cultural practices. The present day city reflects relics of the past with the Great Stone Church, which partially collapsed in the 1812 earthquake.

The gardens have an array of color. Water lilies rest in fountains that contain large Koi fish. The regional landscape vibrates with natural splendor.

The Los Rios Historic District has many wonderful gift shops and restaurants. It’s an inviting atmosphere, as you can see in this hand-painted sign that reads, “Come in, stay awhile.”

If you’re looking for a unique java experience, we’d recommend trying Hidden House Coffee. We routinely purchase their lattes that have the perfect ratio of espresso and steamed milk. For an excellent breakfast, you should consider Hummingbird House Cafe for their omelet and french toast. They have charming outside seating. We hope you have a chance to visit this beautiful city that has an active train station at the heart of the historic community.
