James Joyce’s Ulysses – Bloomsday

Today is Bloomsday! James Joyce’s Ulysses took place on a single day, June 16, 1904. To celebrate, we created a “Mkgnao” bookmark with a hand-drawn cat silhouette. This reference is from Chapter 4, Calypso, when Leopold Bloom is first introduced:

“The cat walked stiffly round a leg of the table with tail on high.
—O, there you are, Mr Bloom said, turning from the fire. The cat mewed in answer and stalked again stiffly round a leg of the table, mewing. Just how she stalks over my writingtable. Prr. Scratch my head. Prr.”

Bibliophile Bookmarks

In honor of #winter solstice, we would like to announce our new line of Remington typewriter bookmarks. Featured in the photo are quotes by Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein,  T.S. Eliot’s “The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock,” Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Herman Melville’s Bartleby, the Scrivener. We also custom make Wanderlust bookmarks. These products are a perfect way to mark your spot while you tackle your winter reading list.

Banned Book Week

“You don’t have to burn books to destroy a culture. Just get people to stop reading them. -Ray Bradbury

Banned Book Week has caused us to reflect on novels in our personal library. One of our prized titles is a signed copy of Fahrenheit 451, which inspired these new bookmarks. Keep reading and open your mind to new things.

We will be exhibitors at the 2015 Newport Beach Book Fair on Sunday, October 4th. It is free to the public. This event will be held from 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM at The Newport Beach Tennis Club at 2601 East Bluff Dr. Newport Beach, CA 92660. Join us and place custom orders in person! 📚

Our bookmarks are created with a Remington Ten Forty typewriter. We use multicolored parchment card-stock which measures 2″ x 7.25″. It’s a perfect gift for a fellow bibliophile. These bookmarks are part of the Things We Love Collection ♡.
